The Central Minnesota Sexual Assault Center(CMSAC) provides the following services:

  • A 24-hour phone line.
  • Advocacy and emotional support.
  • One to one support counseling.
  • Support groups for victim/survivors of all ages.
  • Support groups for concerned persons (partners, friends, and family).
  • Free, Confidential assistance.
  • Referrals to other service providers.
  • Resources (books, videos, informational packets).
  • Educational Programming for communities, schools, and organizations.

24-Hour Crisis Line - The crisis line is covered by staff and trained volunteer advocates who offer support, information & encouragement.

Advocacy & Emotional Support - Staff and trained volunteers can provide support and advocacy during medical, law enforcement, and legal procedures, including court procedures.

One to One Support Counseling - Staff can meet with individuals at a variety of locations.

Referrals - Medical, legal, counseling and other professional referrals are available.

Support Groups - Support groups offer a safe space for people who have been affected by sexual violence to meet, offer encouragement, share resources, and work together on their healing in a group setting. Groups are led by trained facilitators. They are available at different times of the year and at various locations for:

  • Women - 18 & Older
  • Adolescents - Students in grades 7-12
  • Men - 18 & Older
  • Concerned Persons - Spouses, Partners, Parents, co-workers, family, & friends

Therapeutic support may include individual or group counseling, training activities, public outreach for both the victim and concerned parties, empowerment opportunities for marginalized segments of those affected by this crisis. One important aspect is to provide a safe environment for people to share their stories and experiences in order to receive compassion and dignity in return.
